The first connection
My family was living all over the world. In hopes of being more connected with my parents and siblings, I created a small book that we could write in, pass around, and share – from the States to Asia to Europe. We were amazed at the powerful emotions the book brought to us. Reading each entry, writing our thoughts, sending the book on, and anticipating its return strengthened the connection between us.

Sharing the experience
I was so inspired by this idea that I wanted everyone to try it. So I began a company called Circle Journey. I revised my handmade book, keeping it small and personal and soft. I added photo corners and stickers to make it easy and fun for people to include personal mementos. Still in its early stages, I tested out a book with my girlfriend, Allison, who lived across the country. It worked so well that when we were reunited, I simply handed her the book...with a marriage proposal in it.

Stories from far and near
My family still sends our book back and forth, collecting stories, saving ideas, and staying in touch. It supplements our phone calls, e-mail, and family get-togethers. Of course, Circle Journey books don’t have to be sent to family members – they connect friends in any age group in any stage of life. We hear Circle Journey stories from people all over the globe: friends reviving old memories and bonds, spouses trading special thoughts, college students keeping in touch, relatives documenting the fragile months of a terminally ill patient, parents sharing babies’ first steps. The stories and possibilities are endless.

What will your story be?

Thanks for being part of Circle Journey.
